The yellow-throated marten is the second-largest Old World marten, with a tail more than half the body length. The short fur is bright brownish-yellow, the head blackish brown and pointed, the cheeks reddish, and the chest and lower throat orange-golden. The back of the ears and the front paws are black (Wikipedia, general species account).
It occurs in the Himalayas of India, Nepal and Bhutan and across much of Asia. It hunts mainly on the ground but climbs well, jumping 8 to 9m between branches. It is diurnal, usually hunting in pairs and sometimes in packs of three or more, and covers 10 to 20km of territory in a day and night. The sources opened give no Bhutan-specific records.
