Basic stats

Habitat

Lowland to submontane moist evergreen forest, 500–2,000m; arboreal in the canopy outside the breeding season

Range

South-western China, north-eastern India, Nepal, western Thailand and northern Vietnam

The Nepal flying frog, also called Günther's tree frog or the giant tree frog, is a frog of the tree-frog family found in south-western China (Yunnan and Tibet), north-eastern India, Nepal, western Thailand and northern Vietnam. It lives in lowland to submontane moist evergreen forest and has been observed between 500 and 2,000m (Wikipedia, general species account).

Outside the breeding season it is arboreal and lives high in the canopy. It lays its eggs in foam nests built above pools and ponds. In India people occasionally catch it as subsistence food. The account opened does not name Bhutan, so its place in the Bhutan guide is flagged for checking, and it gives no size or call information.
