Sitta cinnamoventris
Habitat
Subtropical or tropical dry and moist forests, in montane and lowland forests
Range
India, Tibet, Bangladesh, Bhutan and Nepal
The chestnut-bellied nuthatch is found in the Indian subcontinent, in India, Tibet, Bangladesh, Bhutan and Nepal, in subtropical or tropical dry and moist forests and in montane and lowland forests. The white on the ear coverts does not extend into the chin, unlike in the Indian nuthatch (Wikipedia, general species account).
It is very similar to the Burmese nuthatch but has a heavier bill, and the crown and mantle are of the same shade. The wing and tail markings are contrasting: silvery-edged primaries, blackish inner webs to the tertials, and a tail with large white spots.
