Along the Himalayas east into Southeast Asia
The square-tailed drongo-cuckoo is a cuckoo that resembles a black drongo. It is found along the Himalayas extending east into Southeast Asia. It can be told by its downcurved beak, the white-barred vent and outer undertail, and a tail that is only notched with slightly flared tips. In flight a white wing-stripe is visible from below (Wikipedia, general species account).
The calls are a series of piercing, sharp whistles that rise in pitch but are shrill and choppily delivered. The subspecies dicruroides was once included and is now treated as a separate species, the fork-tailed drongo-cuckoo. The source opened gives no size, diet or breeding detail.
