Phylloscopus humei
Habitat
Breeds in the mountains of inner Asia; winters mainly in India
Hume's leaf warbler is a small leaf warbler that breeds in the mountains of inner Asia and is migratory, wintering mainly in India. Like most leaf warblers it has greenish upperparts and off-white underparts, and with its long supercilium, crown stripe and yellow-margined tertials it is very similar to the yellow-browed warbler (Wikipedia, general species account).
It has only one prominent light wing bar, with a faint vestige of a second shorter one, and duller colours overall. The best distinction from the yellow-browed warbler is its more disyllabic call, and the song is buzzing and high-pitched. The eastern and western Hume's leaf warblers differ in mtDNA and calls but not songs, and are not usually considered separate species.
