Falco amurensis

Basic stats

Clutch size

3–4 eggs, laid at two-day intervals

Wingspan

63–71cm

The Amur falcon has long wings, as in most falcons, with a span of 63 to 71cm, and at rest the wing tip reaches or extends just beyond the tail tip. Three or four eggs are laid, at two-day intervals (Wikipedia, general species account).

The birds are thought to fly at a height above 1,000m during migration, and winds at about 3,000m are strong. The sources read for the Bhutan guide give no plumage, range or diet information, so none is stated, and its occurrence in Bhutan is flagged for checking.
