Chroicocephalus genei
Habitat
Colonies; nests on the ground in a scrape sparsely lined with feathers and vegetation
Clutch size
Up to 3 brown-spotted white eggs
Size
37–40cm
Wingspan
90–102cm
The slender-billed gull is 37 to 40cm long with a wingspan of 90 to 102cm. It is a rather uncommon gull that breeds in colonies, nesting on the ground and laying up to three brown-spotted white eggs in a scrape sparsely lined with feathers and bits of vegetation (Wikipedia, general species account).
In one colony the lack of predators and disturbance allowed over 98% of the eggs to hatch. The sources read for the Bhutan guide give no plumage, range or diet information, so none is stated, and its occurrence in Bhutan is flagged for checking.
