Streptopelia orientalis
Clutch size
2 white eggs
Incubation period
15–16 days
The Oriental turtle dove lays two white eggs in a twig nest in a tree. Males were found to incubate by day and females by night, with incubation starting immediately after the first egg. The eggs hatch in 15 to 16 days and the chicks take about 15 to 17 days to fledge, a figure measured in Japan (Wikipedia, general species account).
The only readable source for the Bhutan guide gives these breeding details and nothing more. No plumage, range, habitat or diet information was found, so none is stated, and the entry is kept short on purpose.
