The chestnut white-bellied rat is a small rodent with a bright chestnut upper coat, varying from very bright to a duller brown, and a white under-coat, with a distinct margin where the two meet along the side. The upper side of the tail is mostly brownish and the underside whitish to flesh-coloured (Wikipedia, general species account).
It is found mostly in disturbed and undisturbed forest and is known to scatter-hoard seeds in forests of the eastern Himalayas. The Mammal Diversity Database lists Bhutan in its range. The short source opened gives no size or breeding figures, so none are stated.
