Breeds across temperate Eurasia; winters on coasts and in South Asia

The common redshank is a Eurasian wader. In breeding plumage it is marbled brown, slightly lighter below, and in winter it becomes lighter, plainer greyish-brown above and whitish below. It has red legs and a black-tipped red bill, and shows white up the back and on the wings in flight (Wikipedia, general species account).

It is a widespread breeding bird across temperate Eurasia and a migrant, wintering on Mediterranean and Atlantic coasts and in South Asia. Like most waders it feeds on small invertebrates. The spotted redshank, which breeds in the Arctic, has a longer bill and legs. The source read gives nothing specific to Bhutan.
